The UK Lotto rollover draw which took place on Saturday 8th December 2012 was initially estimated at £6.5 million, and surprised players by coming in at a whopping £7,117,094 on the night. This is a huge £600,000 above initial estimates, and whilst actual jackpots do often vary from the estimates made in the days prior to the draw taking place, they rarely fluctuate to such a degree. But why did the jackpot come in so much higher than anticipated?
